CYNGOR CYMUNED LLANWRDA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting of Llanwrda Community Council held at the Village Hall, Llanwrda on Wednesday 20th April, 2022.

Present:

Councillors: J. Thompson, R. Jones, B. Haworth

Mr Lyn Rowlands had attended the meeting to discuss the pressure washing of the play equipment and cutting the grass of the Cornwallis field. If members of Cornwallis are carrying out work on behalf of the Community Council a copy of the Public Liability of the people carrying the work is required. Following a lengthy discussion it was finally agreed that the work next year would be advertised for Tender and also a brief description of the exact work required would be prepared.

Minutes were accepted as correct.

3. Declarations of Interest

4. Matters arising from the minutes:

9 (a) Play Area
No reply had been received from Carmarthenshire County Council regarding the Park Inspection, the file continued to be with Councillor M. Carroll.

9 (2) Public Footpaths – prioritising
Councillor J. Shipton had spoken to Richard Rees regarding prioritising footpaths. It was discussed and agreed to inform Carmarthenshire County Council to prioritise the following:
School Lane (which also required resurfacing), footpaths near Tabor, the bridge down by the Tywi the gate is dangerous. Bishops Mill – a new footbridge, but this was under discussion.

9 (ii) Village Speed limit
This was being reduced to 20 m.p.h. in 2023.

9 (iv) Flashing speed sign
This continues to be out of order.

9 (viii) Dog Fouling
Members of the Environmental Team had visited Llanwrda and reported that there are no obvious signs of dog faeces on their visit. Should there be any further issues please contact Ian Richards, Environmental Enforcement Officer, directly when they occur.

Absent from the meeting. It was agreed to invite the PCSO to be next meeting.

These to be signed at the May meeting.

8. Urgent business

9 (x) Lighting on road to Station
Councillor B. Haworth reported that the issue with the street light had now returned, this was discussed and it was agreed to arrange a site meeting with Mr Arwel Price, Carmarthenshire County Council.

Councillor Jon Shipton was not putting his name forward for election. He thanked everyone for their work and support over the years.
