Minutes of the MS Teams meeting of Llanwrda Community Council held at 7.00 o’clock on Wednesday 21st February, 2024.

2. Minutes of the meeting held 17th January, 2024
Minutes were accepted as correct.

4. Matters arising from the minutes:
9 (a) Play Area
Following the inspection report, it was noted that there is algae on parts of the equipment, graffiti needs to be removed. We had purchased in the past graffiti removal solution, the Clerk to obtain further information.
9 (e) Dog Fouling – School Lane
No further issues received.
9 (k) Bute Energy
No further updates received.
9 (a4) Co-option of Members
The Clerk had contacted Carmarthenshire County Council for information regarding co-option, and this had been forwarded to Facebook and Website.
9 (a5) OVW – Portrait of the King
No portrait was required as we are not responsible for a Village Hall.
9 (a3) Village Memorial Monument
The Clerk had asked Griffiths Memorial to proceed with the work, they accepted the work and it would be carried out as soon as weather permits.
5. Reports
5.1 (b) Report from County Councillor
(a) Council Tax would be increased by 7.5%, some of the cuts had been deferred until 2025.
(b) Information for new pupils starting school
(c) Schools Modernisation Programme
(d) Bottle Recycling Bins to be removed by 26th February, 2024
The closure of the road by Cwmerchon was discussed and it was agreed to ask for more warning signs about the closure to be placed in the area.

7. Finance
(a) Payments
No new invoices to date.
(b) Donations
Requests had been received from Marie Curie, Menter Dinefwr and Adran Llyn y Fan.
Following a discussion it was agreed to donate £50.00 to Adran Llyn y Fan
(a) Budget 2024/2025
The budget had already been discussed whilst agreeing on the Precept.
(b) Signing of quarterly financial statements and bank statements
These to be signed at the April meeting.

9. Urgent business
9 (a6) Church Bells
A complaint had been received regarding the noise from the Church Bells, it was agreed that this should be reported by the person making the complaint.
9 (a7) Village Speed limits
Complaints had been received regarding the speed limits on the outskirts of the village. The speed limit up the hill to Tabor Chapel is 60 mph, should be 40 mph, the speed limit along the road by The Feathers is 50 mph this should be reduced to 40 mph. It was agreed that we ask for these speed limits to be reviewed.
9 (a8) Go Safe course
Councillor M. Goddard-Pepperzak had attended the Go Safe Webinar. It was very informative and training would be given if any village was interested. Also, anyone requiring the Go Safe van to visit to telephone with information.
