Minutes of the Llanwrda Community Council meeting held via MS Teams at 7.00 p.m. on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, following the Annual General Meeting.

2. Minutes of the Meeting Held on 15 April 2026
The minutes were accepted as a true and accurate record.

4. Matters Arising from the Minutes
9(a) Play Area
Nothing to report regarding the equipment. The path near the play area had become overgrown, and the Chair agreed to contact Mr S. Knight.
9(e) Dog Fouling
Nothing to report.
9(k) Bute Energy / Green GEN Cymru / Wind Turbines
No updates. Members were waiting to see what happens when the Senedd reconvenes following the elections.
9(a7) Village Speed Limits / Highway Issues
No further updates.
9(25) Roman Road (Llansadwrn to Llanwrda)
Ongoing.
9(28) Benches for the Village
The grant funding had been received. The Clerk will arrange for further information regarding the available benches to be circulated to all members.
9(29) Llanwrda Telephone Kiosk
This was discussed briefly, including the possibility of installing the defibrillator in the kiosk should problems arise with the Village Hall.
9(30) Public Rights of Way (PRoW) – Llanwrda Walking Group Footpaths
Following a letter sent to the Welsh Government, a response was received stating that funding for active travel infrastructure is limited.
9(31) Future of Llanwrda Church
It was reported that £30,000 would be required to fund the church over the next two years. Capel Dewi was for sale by auction. Unfortunately, many local churches are closing.
5. Reports
5.1 Report from the County Councillor
a) Refuse collections would be one day later because of the Bank Holiday.
b) The Tywi Trail was open and being well used.
c) Carmarthenshire County Council Chair’s Baton Relay Race – 20 June.
d) A 24-hour response service (Delta) had been launched.
e) Dementia Action Week.
f) Graduate Apprenticeship Opportunities.
5.2 Report from the Cornwallis Trust Liaison Representative
No further updates had been received.
5.3 Report from the Police Liaison Representative
The police had been in the Brodawel area of the village because a resident was parking a tractor and slurry trailer/tanker on the pavement. As this is illegal, the police had spoken to the individual concerned.
