CYNGOR CYMUNED LLANWRDA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Minutes of the meeting of Llanwrda Community Council held at the Village Hall, Llanwrda on Wednesday 15th May, 2024 following the Annual General Meeting.

1. Apologies
Everyone present.

2. Minutes of the meeting held 17th April, 2024
Minutes were accepted as correct.

3. Declaration of Interest

4. Matters arising from the minutes

9 (a) Play Area
The Graffiti, algae had been removed. Carmarthenshire County Council will inspect the Play Area this year. Councillor M. Goddard-Pepperzak agreed to inspect the equipment monthly, the Clerk to prepare work sheets.

9 (e) Dog Fouling – School Lane
No further issues received.

9 (k) Bute Energy/Green GEN Cymru
A letter had been sent and acknowledged.

9 (a4) Co-option of Members
Two names had been received but only one had been acknowledge. Bronwen Auld had shown an interest in co-option, therefore it was discussed and agreed that she would be co-opted as a member and invited to attend the next meeting.

9 (a7) Village Speed Limits
A letter had been sent to SWTRA asking to reduce the speed limit. An accident had happened in the village and it was agreed to write another letter asking to consider traffic calming measures in the village to reduce the speed of traffic.

9 (a8) Pot holes/Fly Tipping
County Councillor A. Davies that the complaints system had changed, and when he complained he was given a reference number and no further updates. He again emphasised the importance of individuals sending in complaints regarding pot holes, etc. The Hot Tar Lorry was required to repair pot holes on Tabor Hill.

Councillor M. Goddard-Pepperzak reported that the litter bin near Hafod Bridge had been removed.

Complaints had been received again regarding Bancynos lay-by, lorries that were parking over-night were very noisy. Although it is a public lay-by.

9 (a) 11 Surfacing of road from Parc Newydd to the Post Office (update)
No work had been carried out, re-surfacing by Carmarthenshire County Council had been reduced 10 miles over a year.

9 (a) 12 Repair/Surfacing of pavement from Parcnewydd past the vicarage
This had been reported.

Payments
DHL Gwynne Fencing – £576.00

Donations
A letter had been received from the Llanwrda Bloomers asking for a donation of £400.00 towards their work in the village. This was discussed and agreed.

The budget to be discussed at our September meeting.

(b) Signing of quarterly financial statements and bank statements
To be signed at the June meeting.

IRP letter
Copies of the letter were distributed.

Audit 2023/2024 (full)
To be completed before the end of June.

9 Urgent business

9 (a13) Future meetings – Teams/Village Hall
It was discussed and agreed that May, June and July (or August) meetings would be held at the Village Hall, the remaining meetings to be held via MS Teams.

10. Date of next meeting
The next meeting would be held on Wednesday 19th June, 2024 at Llanwrda Village Hall.
