Minutes of the meeting of Llanwrda Community Council held via MS Teams at 7.00 p.m. on Wednesday 18th March, 2026

Before the meeting commenced Sioned Haf had requested to attend the meeting in order to give everyone information regarding a new exciting project. A small group of villagers have applied for a Perthyn grant (funded by the Welsh Government) which provides local early stage support to Welsh communities. The group have been successful in receiving the grant to carry out research regarding issues of language, environment, energy, transport and local assets. The project will ask for the ideas and visions of local people as to what development they would like to see in the area. The Welsh language is central to the terms of the grant. The grant will be kept and distributed by Cwmpas and there are two consulting groups developing the research work, namely Pobol Tir Mor and Iaith, Cyf. The consultation will likely start at the end of February/beginning of March. There was a meeting last Saturday giving further information and it was very well supported, the survey can also be accessed on line. The closing date is the 27th March, 2026. Further developments will be advertised through the Llansadwrn website and the community Facebook. Anyone who is interested, wants to join the navigating group to contact Sioned Haf.

There was an issue on the footpath, but as the area needed clearing the Chairman agreed to speak to Mr. S. Knight.

9 (b) Village Speed limit/Highways
The pot holes near Tabor had been filled.

The Clerk to contact Carmarthenshire County Council for any updates and include the County Councillor with any updates.
9 (28) Benches/Picnic Tables for the village
The meeting regarding the Grant was being held in April.

No reply received to date from Mr Jason Lawday.

Although it was discussed that a number of agricultural equipment was in the village with some parked at the bottom of Brodawel.

Councillor Bethan Charles Davies reported that a review was being carried out regarding the Churches in the area. Llanwrda Church is staying open and will be reviewed in 2 years time, officials plan to hold a community meeting – date to be decided. There is also a meeting this evening which will include the Parochial Church Council’s Easter Vestry meeting.
