Minutes of the meeting of Llanwrda Community Council held via MS Teams at 7.00 p.m. on Wednesday 21st January, 2026

2. Minutes of the meeting held 26th November, 2025
Minutes accepted as correct.
3. Declaration of Interest
County Councillor A. Davies – Green GEN Cymru
Councillor B. Charles Davies – Wind Turbines (When discussed the Councillor would leave the meeting)
4. Matters arising from the minutes:
9 (a) Play Area
No issues to report.
9 (e) Dog fouling
No major issues.
9 (k) Green GEN Cymru
There were no further updates.
9 (b) Village Speed Limit
No further speeding issues.
It was reported that an Agricultural livestock lorry and a smaller lorry were moving animals from one lorry to the other. It always happens late at night. It was agreed to monitor the situation with timings when it was happening, also note the registration number of the vehicles involved.
9 (21) Beer Festival
It was asked to be removed from the Agenda.
9 (25) Roman Road
County Councillor Arwel Davies was constantly aware of the situation of the road when opportunities aros to discuss the Roman Road.
9 (28) Benches for the village
Carmarthenshire County Council were applying for a grant for Benches, if successful Llanwrda Community Council asked for 2 benches. Also, the Clerk had completed a grant application form to Williams Brownhill, CIO for 2 benches and 2 picnic tables.
9 (30) Christmas Tree event
This had been a very successful event, thanks to the support from Mr. Richard Rees, Bridgend Garage.
9 (31) Broken Street light
A street light at Brodawel was out of order, the Clerk to report to Street Lighting.
9(32) Overgrown hedge
The hedge along School Lane along the road to the old Cross Keys public house was overgrown. The Chairman to contact Mr S. Knight.
5. Reports
5.1 (b) Report from County Councillor
(a) Carmarthenshire County Council Budget Consultation closing date is 1st February. It was so very important that everyone completed the consultation.
(b) School Transport catchment area for 2027/2028
It was reported that trees by Cwmeirchion were dangerous.
5.2 (b) Report from Cornwallis Liaison
No reports received.
5.3 (b) Report from Police Liaison
No major issues have come up; we have had complaints in other area’s regarding hare coursing in the night. They are entering peoples land without permission and damaging the land with Quad bikes and leaving gates open. No other calls have come in over the last couple of months.

9. Urgent business
Biodiversity report
A biodiversity report should be placed on the website by the end of the financial year. The following were mentioned: Llanwrda bloomers, tulips in wheelbarrow in the village, etc.
